Corona cases are increasing rapidly in three states of the country. In these, cases of infection are increasing continuously in Maharashtra, Kerala and Delhi. The active cases of corona and the positivity rate of these three are increasing in the state. Maharashtra is at the top in terms of active patients. The number of active patients of infection in this state has increased to 11,571. In the last 24 hours alone, 2,813 new cases have come in Maharashtra. Of these, 1700 cases have come in Mumbai itself. In the last few days in Mumbai, there has been an increase of up to 130 percent in new cases. Kerala ranks second in terms of active patients after Maharashtra. There are currently 11,329 active patients in Kerala.
Apart from these two states, now the cases of corona have started increasing again in the capital Delhi as well. In the last 24 hours, 622 new cases have been registered in the capital. Whereas 564 cases had come a day earlier. The positivity rate in Delhi has increased to 3.17 percent. The same, the positivity rate is 11.50 percent in Kerala and 6.74 percent in Maharashtra. In Kerala too, 2193 new cases have been registered in the last 24 hours. There has been some reduction in new cases in this state, but the ever-increasing positivity rate is indicating danger. Due to the increase in the cases of corona in these three states, the number of infections in the country is also increasing. In the last 24 hours, 7584 new cases have come in the country and the number of active patients has crossed 36 thousand.
Before this, whenever there has been a wave of corona in the country, then cases increase first in these three states. In such a situation, is the danger of a new wave increasing again? to know Tv9 Has talked to Kovid Expert.
There is no danger of a new wave yet
Dr. Yudhveer Singh, Professor, Critical Care Department of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, said that even though the cases of corona have been increasing, there is no increase in hospitalization. Only mild symptoms are being found in the infected. The epidemic is in the endemic phase itself. In such a situation, cases will increase in some states and will decrease after the arrival of small peak.
According to Dr., until a new variant of Corona comes in the country, the new wave will not come. Dr. Singh says that the reason for the increase in cases in Delhi, Maharashtra and Kerala can be Omicron Sub Variant BA.5. In such a situation, genome sequencing of those infected with high viral load will have to be done. If this variant is available, then there is nothing to worry about, but one has to be cautious about any new variant. The reason for this is that the level of immunity received from corona infection is decreasing. In such a situation, cases can increase rapidly due to new variants.
Cases may increase even more in the coming days
Dr. Singh says that in the coming days, corona cases may increase in these three states. Because people who have not taken the vaccine and who are elderly or suffering from chronic disease. They can get infected again. In such a situation, these people need to be protected. Before going to crowded areas, apply mask and take care of cleanliness.
